Ouch!! If you’ve broken a bone or cracked a tooth, you know the results – PAIN. Referred to as acute pain, this unpleasant sensation is letting your brain know that you have sustained an injury. Ideally, as the injury heals the sensation of pain will lessen with time.
But what if the pain you have doesn’t go away? You may be one of the millions of people that suffer from chronic pain, defined as pain that lasts at least 12 weeks. Chronic pain may be the result of an initial injury or illness and can unfortunately last for years.
